An itch you don’t want

Dr Katie Best was selected to present a rare case of juvenile dermatomyositis confounded by scabies as an oral presentation at the British Society for Paediatric & Adolescent Dermatology (BSPAD) Annual Meeting, hosted by Newcastle. This sparked a lively discussion chaired by BSPAD president Dr Tess McPherson, consultant dermatologist , about the current surge in scabies cases, UK treatment shortages posing a public health threat and ongoing research in the field of treatment resistance.
